The bill makes me think that it is difficult to manage such feelings as fear and anxiety. It is much easier to find the object for these feelings and try to manage this object (and not one`s own feelings). 9/11 was not made by illegal immigrants. There is no evidence that more crimes are committed by illegal immigrants than by legal residents.
During Presidential election compaign I several times saw the guys from Texas on tv. They have some kind of organization and they kind of patrol the border. The camera showed white retired tall skinny man who standed somewhere among sand and stones. He watched through field glasses. He called himself a patriot. I wondered what he was going to do if he finally notice something. He had a gun. Was he ready to kill armless people? If so, how many? I can`t imagine him fighting with "serious" guys who have the guns, because he is not trained to do it. To spend time watching through the spy glasses is another way of trying to manage the object of fear.
As for the jobs, it seems undocumented workers just feel the gap. In Chipotle restaurants illegal workers were paid minimum wage at the beginning. They were given the promotion in time. One guy became a manager and earned $44000 annually. All the workers were recently fired as a result of the audit of the company. But a lot of the workers already found new places to work. That is because there is a little if any competition in this area of employment.
"it it is difficult to manage such feelings as fear and anxiety" I like this. People are getting too much unnecessary fear and anxiety about illegal immigrants, whom aren't as dangerous as thought. Fear cannot drive out fear, only love can do that.
